I wonder if the filmmakers knew that there are no snakes in Hawaii, where the flight originates in the movie.

Oh, they knew. It's actually explained in the film, as if it matters. Most of the problems are addressed with, "We already thought of everything else," so they don't have to explain it. Isn't it great?
