I find it fascinating how this movie has polarized male and female audiences. Because I thought this movie was a piece of sh-t. Totally cliched with two unlikeable characters. I didn't think it was funny (although it did have some funny moments) or profound. Read Deborah Tannen's "You just Don't Understand" for a better commentary on the differences between men and women in relationships. However, while reading reviews on this film, I'm finding that men love it, while women reviewers tend to agree with me. You didn't find this movie shallow? Boring? Derivative?

Shallow? No way. It was never about the lemons, the bikini wax, the boyfriends or the tickets. It was the underlying issues.

Boring? I cared about saving this relationship so I was on the edge of my seat.

Derivative? Maybe derivative of Annie Hall or those great movies that actually have a real perspective on relationships.

I haven't found the film to be polarizing the genders. If anything, there are just certain people who don't want to think about serious things within a comedy, and that's fine. This is just one of those movies.

Thanks for sharing.
