In 2006, audiences met hit man Chev Chelios (Jason Statham), who spent 24 hours on a testosterone-charged fighting and killing spree in order to keep his adrenaline racing to combat a deadly poison injected into his body.
About Crank High Voltage
In this action-packed sequel, Chev has managed to survive the ordeal, but now faces another deadly threat when he’s kidnapped and forced to undergo surgery in which his heart is replaced with a battery-operated device that needs frequent recharging.
Eventually Chev escapes from his new captors and runs into more unsavory characters, including a Mexican gang boss (Clifton Collins, Jr.), an Asian call girl (Bai Ling), and the head of the Chinese Triads (David Carradine). He visits a doctor (Dwight Yoakam) for advice, gets help from the brother of a friend (Efren Ramirez), and reunites with his girlfriend, Eve (Amy Smart).
About Jason Statham
Popular English actor Jason Statham (The Italian Job, The Bank Job, Snatch, Transporter franchise) first earned fame as one of the best divers on the British Olympic team. He placed third in the Olympic trials three separate times.
Statham is currently in production on Sylvester Stallone’s new film The Expendables, in which he works with other athletic actors including Stallone, Jet Li, and Mickey Rourke.
About Amy Smart
Amy Smart (Just Friends, Starsky & Hutch, the television series Felicity) returns as Chev’s girlfriend from the first Crank movie in which she co-starred with Statham. Smart also participates in non-profit environmental groups including the Environmental Media Association.
About Clifton Collins, Jr.
Clifton Collins, Jr., most recently appeared in the dramatic comedy Sunshine Cleaning where he played a supply storeowner. He’s also a familiar face from his work in Capote and Traffic, and will appear in the upcoming Star Trek film. Collins received an Emmy nomination for his role in the television miniseries Thief.
About Efren Ramirez
Despite his roles in the television series ER, Judging Amy, The District, and Boston Public, Efren Ramirez is most commonly associated with his portrayal of Pedro in the indie sensation Napoleon Dynamite. “Vote for Pedro” T-shirts with his likeness are worn around the world. In Crank, Ramirez appeared as Chev’s cross-dressing friend who gets killed. In Crank High Voltage, he plays the twin brother of Chev’s murdered friend.
About Bai Ling
Voted one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world by People Magazine, singer-author-producer-actress Bai Ling started acting at age 14. She has appeared in the films Nixon and Anna and the King among others, and the two television series Lost and Entourage.
About David Carradine
David Carradine has appeared in 118 films and 27 television productions in a career that spans 45 years. His role in Kung Fu earned him Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Carradine co-produced the second television series Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, and wrote several books, including Spirit of Shaolin, A Handbook of Kung Fu Philosophy.
